Research opportunities are also ample as the university is involved in a wide range of research initiatives.
Dislikes
- It takes a long time to get certain things done from the administration. As it's not an exclusive campus there's concern for the security of the students. A lot of violence keeps happening around the campus.
The ambiance here is good. Professors are supportive. So if you put in the required amount of hardwork then you'll be set for life.
Course Curriculum
The course curriculum is in line with the industrial requirements. Since I'm a PhD student I'm doing research but I have seen here that undergraduate students are also encouraged to do research. One undergrad student is working with me.
Exams
Generally, the requirements are GRE are IELTS/TOEFL. But the GRE requirement varies program by program. As for the language test, it's mandatory. Personally, for me, it was waived off based on my interview and my MSc thesis. Yes I had to submit SOP, research proposal and CV. Just include whatever qualifications you have and other things you have done in your CV. I sat for around 4 interviews with the professor who was going to be my supervisor. Basically, we talked about what interests me. He asked me some questions from graduate level physics. He just wanted to make sure I'm the correct candidate for the position.
Placement
The average study for physics graduate students is around 60K. Physics graduates are very sought after and can be employed in various fields. I don't know about the placement process.
Fees
$37,000
Scholarship
Teaching assistant which amounts to $67000.
Faculty
I'm not sure about the ratio. But there are a lot of Professors. The Professors are very good. They are very good in the respective disciplines.
Campus Life
The campus life is good. All the necessary things are provided like internet, libraries etc. The infrastructure is awesome. There are a lot of extracurricular activities going on but currently I'm not involved in any of those.
Hostel
I'm living on rent. I have a separate room. We all have a separate room here but kitchen and living room is hared by all. The rent of the room really depends on the location and the size of the room. On an average for a small good room I would say it'll cost around $800 pm.
