Gulf Medical University HDPCS Admission Requirements

The Higher Diploma in Pre-Clinical Sciences (HDPCS) is a CAA-accredited program (NQF Level 6) that serves as the preclinical phase of GMU’s international collaborative MD/MBBS degrees. Students complete 3 years at GMU and progress to the clinical phase at partner universities in Poland, Italy, Malaysia, the UK, and others.

General Eligibility

• UAE Curriculum: Minimum 60% in Grade 12 with science subjects.
• Other Curricula: Equivalent to UAE 60% per WES Table.
• Equivalency Certificate from UAE Ministry of Education required.
• Admission Test: Min. 50% in GMU test (Biology, Chemistry mandatory; Physics/Math optional).
• MMIs & Interview: Required post-test for final selection.

Gulf Medical University Undergraduate Admissions 2025

Gulf Medical University accepts international undergraduate applicants who have completed 12 years of schooling with science subjects. Admissions include both direct and conditional options based on document availability.

General Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must have completed 12 years of formal education and passed Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in their Higher Secondary Examination. All undergraduate admissions follow the standards set by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA), UAE Ministry of Education.

Equivalency Certificate Requirement:

Applicants from international curricula are required to submit an Equivalency Certificate issued by the UAE Ministry of Education. Students without this certificate may be granted conditional admission based on a conditional acceptance letter from the Ministry.

Conditions for Final Admission (if conditionally admitted):

To secure final admission, students must fulfill one of the following conditions before the end of the conditional period:

• Submit the official Equivalency Certificate
• Pass specified remedial subjects as per the Ministry’s conditional admission letter
• Successfully complete 24 academic credit hours in the program

If none of these are fulfilled, the university may cancel the admission or seek an extension from the Ministry.

English Language Proficiency:

Applicants must submit scores from one of the following:

• IELTS Academic: Minimum 5.0
• TOEFL: 500 (PBT), 173 (CBT), or 61 (iBT)
• Any other CAA-approved equivalent test

Selection Process:

After clearing the admission exam, applicants will attend a personal meeting with the GMU Admission Committee along with a parent or guardian. Final admission decisions are made by the committee.

Gulf Medical University MBBS Admission Requirements for Indian Students

Indian students applying to the MBBS program at Gulf Medical University must meet specific academic and language criteria. The application fee is AED 200.

Academic Requirements:

• Must have completed 12 years of schooling
• Minimum 80% overall in Grade 12
• Must have studied Biology, Chemistry, and Physics in Grades 10, 11, and 12
