Overall experience in the university was very good, fun , heartwarming, weather is very beautiful, it rains almost after every one or two day and sometimes almost every day. I miss my stay at the university so much, the people I met was very helpful and friendly. We had lot of fun with studies.

Course Curriculum

8

The course curriculum is well planned, well managed and updated by the university depending on the requirements of today's situation. Mechatronics is one of the hot stream in today's time. No, I was not given industrial exposure because I was in mix mode course and also there was COVID in between, so due to lockdown also I was not able to explore much.

Exams

The admission process in IIUM is not difficult at all, you just need to go to their website and apply from there. Regarding English proficiency test, if you have TOEFL or IELTS then it's a plus, but if have not given any of these test then the university conduct an English proficiency test when you reach in University, in that test you need to 6, 6.5 out of 9 depending on in which course you have taken admission. For IELTS score should be: 6 or above out of 9 For TOEFL score should be: 80 or above out of 120 In IIUM I was not asked to submit any of these SOP, LOR, CV etc.

Placement

2

Placement opportunities in not good in Malaysia. In almost 2 years of my course in Malaysia, I think I just heard once that also in my 1st semester that some companies visited in the university, but I don't know much about it.

Internship

No internship and I don't have any idea about how we can internship there, only from friend I heard that we have to apply in related companies then they take interview etc, and if they feel like taking you, they will approach you.

Fees

The tuition fees for one semester in MS Engineering was little more than 5000RM. So for three semesters around 15000 to 20000 RM around. For 1st semester it's around 10000RM that includes admission fees, tuition fees etc. Note: now the fees structure in IIUM and almost every University in Malaysia has changed and it has been hiked more.

Scholarship

Yes I was awarded University scholarship of 5000RM for last semester for having GPA above 3.66 in the 3rd semester. There is a process for it, every semester the application is being released by the university for that first we need to apply for that with all the required documents, then if your application is shortlisted then you need to make a short video explaining why you need this scholarship etc. If your video is also shortlisted then you will receive an amount of 5000RM each for 2 semesters.

Faculty

8

Faculty and staffs are overall helpful in nature, irrespective of few of them. Most of the staffs and faculty are mostly easily approachable and very polite and friendly. Prof. SherAfghan Khan and Prof. Mahbubur Rashid are the two profs who have left so much impact on me with their helpful and polite nature.

Campus Life

Campus life in IIUM is amazing and heartwarming. Infrastructure is very beautiful. Lot of extra curricular activities takes every now and then in the campus. Lot of clubs are there, sports club, literary clubs, cultural activities club, and many more etc. Mostly Research facilities are enough for the research work to be carried out, in few case students need to manage from other universities or industries. Library infrastructure is very beautiful, with separate cabins for research scholars etc. WiFi facility is available in whole campus even in canteens, hostel. Sports facility is also good, with almost courts and stadium for every sports, even in almost every hostel there are badminton court, basketball court.

Hostel

9

Accommodation facility in IIUM is very good, very good infrastructure, just the difference is few hostels are new and are maintained very well on the basis of cleaning etc. Some hostels are not maintained properly but overall the infrastructure is good, every hostel has very good canteen with different country taste foods available. Wifi facility in every hostel. For PG students there is option of double sharing room and single room as well with common toilet and bathroom area. For single room without AC room, cost was 300RM/month, for double sharing room 180RM/month each student. For AC room, 600RM/month single room with attached washroom, but AC rooms are very difficult to get because there is just one hostel of that. For UG students only sharing rooms. No idea about the cost, but it's 4 students sharing room
