Likes
- Working environment and the independence to work is the main advantage of the university. In addition, Humboldt has 56 and counting Noble prizes to its credit, which shows the quality of research.
Course Curriculum
10
- This is a PhD. Coursework is totally different from a regular degree program. However, whateverthe courses I took, the content was excellent.
Admission Experience
- I had a fellowship from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. So I was looking for a professor and a university where I will have the freedom to work on topics of my interest and also the research expertise. Humboldt offered both.
- My Score in the GRE is 162, Nu cut off score by the university as such.
Faculty
10
- Not relevant to the degree to which I was admitted.
Campus Life
10
- Humboldt is really huge, with a dedicated sports center, clubs and regular options for extracurricular activities. All the facilities are available.
Part Time Jobs
- Lot of student assistantships are available but the number of such positions varies from department to department.
Placement
4
- This is not relevant for the course I did. PhD is not a structured program to answer these in percentage.
Accommodation
Off Campus
4
- It is private accommodation, and the cost was around 800 Euros per month
Exams
- This is for PhD admission, so I had to arrange a fellowship on my own, write a concept note, approach professor and then get admitted.
Fees
- For each semester the total fees are 300 Euros, including 180 euros, which goes into a public transport ticket, providing free access to public transport in the city.
