- Master of Community Planning at Vancouver Island University is offered as 2 year program.
- It is an on-campus program offered on a full-time basis.
- This is an intensive program with many opportunities to apply the skills and techniques learned in the program to "real life" planning questions and problems.
- Students will be engaged in self-directed learning and group studies, seminars and discussions, and will have many opportunities to meet and learn from professional planners.
- Some program focuses on:
- Small city and town planning;
- Community and urban design, including a strong GIS component;
- Rural/urban interface planning;
- First Nations planning (with attention to the issues relevant to the First Nations of Vancouver Island and coastal British Columbia);

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic requirements:
- Completion of a Bachelor's degree with a cumulative grade point average of a B grade in the final two years.
- Students with a UG degree other than a Bachelor of Education must have an official transcript indicating completion of a UG degree with a cumulative grade point average of a B grade in the final two years.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/PTE/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
