St Aloysius AIMIT MBA (Fintech) FAQs
Ques. Is the MBA (Fintech) at AIMIT a separate programme from the regular MBA, and what makes it different?
Ans. Yes, the MBA (Fintech) is a distinct standalone programme at AIMIT, separate from the regular MBA (Dual Specialisation) and MBA (Business Analytics). While the regular MBA allows students to choose two functional specialisations from Finance, Marketing, HR, Operations, and Business Analytics, the MBA (Fintech) is specifically designed for students who want to build a career at the intersection of finance and technology. The curriculum includes topics such as digital payments, blockchain technology, algorithmic trading, financial data analytics, and regulatory technology (RegTech), which are not covered in the standard MBA programme. This makes it particularly relevant for students targeting roles in fintech startups, digital banking, payment gateways, and financial services technology firms.
Ques. What is the actual total fee for MBA (Fintech) at AIMIT, and are there any hidden charges I should be aware of?
Ans. As per the official 2026-27 fee structure published by St Aloysius (Deemed To Be University), the tuition fee is Rs 3,00,700 per year for Karnataka students and Rs 3,05,700 per year for Non-Karnataka students, making the total tuition fee Rs 6,01,400 and Rs 6,11,400 respectively over two years. In addition to this, students opting for hostel accommodation will need to pay approximately Rs 87,500 per year for hostel charges, plus separate mess/food charges (approximately Rs 3,200-3,400 per month plus GST depending on veg/non-veg preference). A refundable caution deposit is also collected at the time of admission, the exact amount of which is communicated during the admission process. There are no other major hidden charges, but students should confirm the latest fee breakup directly with AIMIT at the time of admission.
Ques. Does AIMIT accept only Karnataka PGCET and KMAT, or can students from outside Karnataka also apply with CAT/XAT scores?
Ans. Students from outside Karnataka can apply to AIMIT MBA (Fintech) using CAT, XAT, CMAT, or MAT scores. While Karnataka PGCET and KMAT Karnataka are the primary exams used for seat allotment under the Karnataka government's counselling process, AIMIT also accepts national-level exam scores for direct admission under the management quota and for scholarship consideration. Non-Karnataka students who have appeared in CAT, XAT, CMAT, or MAT can apply directly through the AIMIT admission portal and will be shortlisted for GD/PI based on their scores. It is advisable to contact AIMIT admissions directly to confirm the current year's quota availability for non-Karnataka students.
Ques. What kind of placements can I expect after completing MBA (Fintech) from AIMIT, and are there Fintech-specific recruiters?
Ans. AIMIT's overall MBA placement average stands at 75%, with top recruiters including EY GDS, HDFC, ICICI, Wipro, HUL, ANZ, BDO Rise, DXC Technology, Swiggy, and Asian Paints. However, since the MBA (Fintech) is a relatively newer specialisation, dedicated Fintech-specific placement data is not separately published. Students from the Fintech programme are likely to be considered for roles in financial analytics, digital banking, payment operations, and technology consulting. The placement cell at AIMIT is active and provides 360-degree career support including industry mentorship, interview preparation, resume writing support, and access to job boards. Students are advised to leverage the strong alumni network and industry connections of AIMIT for Fintech-specific opportunities.
Ques. Is hostel accommodation available at AIMIT for MBA (Fintech) students, and what are the facilities like?
Ans. Yes, hostel accommodation is available at the AIMIT Beeri campus for MBA students. The campus has both old and new hostel blocks. The new hostel offers standard and AC room options. Hostel fees are approximately Rs 87,500 per year (non-AC), with AC rooms charged at a higher rate. Mess charges are separate and billed monthly (approximately Rs 3,200-3,400 per month plus GST depending on veg/non-veg preference). The hostel is optional and not mandatory for the programme. Students are advised to apply for hostel accommodation early as seats are limited. The campus is located at Beeri, Kotekar, Mangalore, which is away from the city centre, making on-campus accommodation a practical choice for outstation students.
Ques. What is the difference between MBA (Fintech) and MBA (Business Analytics) at AIMIT, and which one should I choose?
Ans. Both MBA (Fintech) and MBA (Business Analytics) are specialised standalone programmes at AIMIT, distinct from the regular MBA (Dual Specialisation). MBA (Fintech) focuses on the application of technology in financial services, covering areas like digital payments, blockchain, algorithmic trading, and financial regulation. MBA (Business Analytics), on the other hand, is broader in scope and covers data analytics, machine learning applications in business, business intelligence, and decision science across industries. If your career goal is specifically in banking, financial services, or fintech startups, MBA (Fintech) is the better choice. If you are interested in data-driven decision making across sectors such as retail, e-commerce, healthcare, or consulting, MBA (Business Analytics) would be more suitable. Both programmes have the same fee structure at AIMIT.
