What Students Say
Likes
- Tution was affordable, and area is not bad.
- Some of them are good faculty, they help in many ways
- Nearby facilities are okay, ragging issues minimal.
Dislikes
- Management is worst, they are money minded and does not know how to run the organisation
- ZERO placements for Aerospace, and no placement support
- Fraud examination cell, fails student purposefully and do not have any accountability
Course Curriculum Overview
Overall course structure is average, comprehensive development of subjects are not prioritized, CBCS system was in place, curriculum is not bad overall could use some more real world application based approach. Exams are easy and are scheduled like any other university
Fees and Financial Aid
When I joined yearly fees was 1 lakh 50 thousand, I got 50 percent scholarship so If paid 75 thousand yearly, NRI fees are higher, but Aerospace course for this fees is not bad. Now they have increased fees to 2.2 lakhs
Campus Life
There were literally no festivals or extracurricular activities like sports, or other arts festivals, Nothing. This is the worst part of this college, Library is fine, no licenses for software and publications. Equipment in my department was fine, could be better was it was acceptable. Had wind tunnels and other equipments, but not maintained properly No student clubs and other organisations
Admission
Fees was less for this university and the contacts I had said it was good academically, I applied for SRM and canadian universities like Ryerson and Carleton where I got offer letters for same course, but due to covid I cancelled that plan. Admission process is simple, no exams or other requirements, just need to have vacancy and money. Admission executives try to extort u of money in name of donation and stuff, do not fall into that trap.
Faculty
Faculty during last 3 years were good, many of the good ones have now resigned, Mahavishnu sir and Dr Sundararaj are good mentors and care for student welfare, some others are focused on other things, this is a common thing among every institution, I did not find anything particularly problematic.
Night Life
Night life is fine, all facilities like gym restaurants supermarkets and other stores are available nearby. Hostel closes at 9pm for boys and 7 for girls There are some shops that open all night, good spots to hangout with freinds. Locality is not exactly very safe, roam at your own risk, police is not friendly.
Other Applied Colleges
SRM Institute of Science and Technology - [SRMIST] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Aerospace Engineering)
Expensive.
