Course Curriculum Overview

3

curriculum is still experimental which is great considering the broader spectrum of academia and finding what works best. But the things which doesnt work out getting implemented on you is the worst. It affects a lot when you graduate and you dont know the basics that your contemporaries expect you to know.

Internships Opportunities

5

Got chance to work in one of the best firms (hundredhands designs) as an intern. Stipend was a basic of 6000 per month. however got great exposure. All thannks to Prof. Dr. Priya who had recommended me there out of her good will.

Placement Experience

5

No much campus placement for barch course. Mostly dependant of the individual's skills and portfolio strength. Professors re very helpful in offering internships into reputed architecture studio from their refferal.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition fee year 1-1.5 lacs year 2-1.5 lacs year 3- 2lacs year 4 - 2.5 lacs year 5 - 3 lacs No particular concession for fees for specific caste category. No fee reduction also was done during covid time. Scholarship is very menial amount of 5000-1000 rupees. which is technically 5-10 percent. Hostel fees are seperate which would be another 50-60k per year.

Campus Life

3

For B.arch the library wasnt well stocked when i studied there since it was a new course but now it is fairly updated. Lot of college festivals happen which is great. There are lot of student run clubs that happen which gives much exposure however its all under the management which should approve.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel is very good. Rooms are cleaned everyday by housekeeping. decently spacious and well maintained washroom. Laundry facility available. College canteen also offers good quality food but slightly expensive. Would have been better if the management could provide more affordable options. Consider 300 rs per day for having meals 3 times a day and maybe a cup of tea in the evening.l, which would amount upto 9000 per month (which was a little too much just to survive)

Admission

I applied and as soon as you pass the interview within 2-3 days you are expected to pay half fees and lock it leaving students with no other options. arleast a few weeks of buffer should have been given from the management. Admission requirements are jee paper 2 and nata score

Faculty

4

Good faculty to student ratio. But the pressure of passing the course is much exerted on the faculty than students which creates poor competitiveness among students. Very sad to see faculties doing all sort of things just to make students pass while students are doing just minimum. so that college reputation is held up. Some faculties are just partial to certain students which is not fair. Exams are pretty easy to pass.

Night Life

1

Night life inside the campus is good since its lush green. For kengeri campus nightlife is pretty much dead. curfew time in hostel is 9:30pm which leaves no room to enjoy city life being in a pretty city like bangalore.

Architecture is completely a solo thinking work we can work in groups as well but if a structure is designed by a single architect then it has a taste of that particular person but if its a group then all will be mixed and have different kind of brains giving different ideas soo an individual can manage even if he doesnt get a placement

Course Curriculum Overview:

You'll indulge in a lot of painting and are related stuff. Well since Architecture is not only about art, there are subjects which will use up your brain cells. You also get to go to study trips too! The ride is not smooth- everyday would be a submission day , everyday would be a love-hate relationship with the course. Internal reviews, external reviews, viva and jury, presentation and assignments, written exams...theyre enough to keep you busy throughout. Since its Affiliated to vtu, the system does seem not so updated to date. You cannot expect to have a month of holidays after each Semester too. Dont dream of having a pleasant vacation break.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is more condensed that other colleges', so it makes it easier to tackle multiple things at once. The course prepares us for real world applications through their dual internship program, which is a strong point in their curriculum. If the course in itself had more real world applications, instead of very superficial ideas, it would be more helpful The exams are a hurdle, but it comes with the rigor of the course, and it is something students end up adapting to over the course of 5 years.

Course Curriculum Overview:

If you check with other colleges the approach to the curriculum is different and more fun. The process of learning is more fun and appealing making us satisfied of what we have done at the end. Sometimes we don't get how the teachers are expecting us to do our assignments but we figure it out some how. Exams happen twice a semester (mid-sem and end-sem).

Since our HOD changed this year, I'm not sire about when the placements are available, most probably would be for the 5th year students so 9th sem onwards. Not sur3 about which companies either, highest package would be 8000 I'm guessing, we don't get paid much. My plan is to switch courses, this was absolutely useless to me :)
