Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is quite good as you have many number of options for the course you want and specializations. They prepare you for interview and internships. But it also depends on the the teachers you got cuz if your teacher is strict and doesn't teach well you won't gain any knowledge as well as your CGPA will go down. Exams happen after every 2 months approx.

Placement Experience

2

Students are allowed for campus placement after 6th semester that is 4th year onwards. Famous MNCs come for placement but they take very few talented students so the competition for very good package is pretty tough. Although many students get thier placement byt thier package may not be as good.

Fees and Financial Aid

VIT provides to join any course under 1 of the 5 categories based on its entrance exam(VITEEE). 1st category course fees: 2 lkhs/yr 2nd cat fee: 2lkh/yr Upto 5th cat fee: around 5 lkh approx. You can select your category fees according to rank you got and which city you want .

Campus Life

2.5

VIT has its own tech fest known as Techno-VIT. And for cultural fest we have Vibrance. Sports is on the other hand not that good, this college doesn't focus too much on sports byt still has various facilities like badminton court, basketball court, swimming pool etc. There are above 100 clubs and you are allowed to join as many as you want ranging from technical to social clubs. Plus there are some special teams like aviators and many more which take part in college level competitions representing VIT.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostels are comfortable and has many options and you have the freedom to choose your roommates according to you from 2nd year. There are many types of room given AC/Non AC, 2 bedded, 3 bedded, 4 bedded etc. Mess food is actually good but there is too much crowd so you will have to wait in queue for few minutes

Admission

VIT is a national level college, of course not as good as IITs or BITs but it can be compared to some NITs and is better than some of them too. VIT conducts its own entrance exam called VITEEE according to which you can choose your courses and fee categories

Faculty

3.5

Faculty to student ratio is around 1: 50 approx and student to teacher interaction depends on your teacher. As well as you can choose your Faculty by yourself cuz you have FFCS. Therr are 2 mid terms namely CAT 1 and CAT2 of 50 marks and CAT2 is open book test. And final exam is called FAT of 100 marks. The course curriculum is set as 30 marks for 3 Digital assignments/class quiz of 10 marks each. 15 marks of CAT1 and 15 of CAT 2 and finally 40 marks of FAT together sums upto to 100

this is where they lie the most , they claim to have placement records of 97% but in reality its just 10%. because of huge student crowd , placing everyone is one big task. the company that comes here for hiring are mostly startups and some lesser known company . branches like mechanical and EEE have it even more difficult time to get placement.the highest package of over college is of 16 lakhs .
