Student's Review On Shri Shikshayatan College, Kolkata

There was no such reason for which I chose Shri Shikshayatan. SSC releases their admission results so fast that I had a fear if I didn't get further chance in any other college. One plus factor is that SSC organises a lot of co-curricular activities so if you want a life beyond studies SSC is great in doing that.

The course syllabus as issued by the Calcutta University was quite updated. Semester system was new for us and the faculty is pretty good in making understand that to us. I don't remember gaining any knowledge from my college classes. 3 to 4 professors take one subject each of them doing different chapters which literally is kind of a hoch poch thing. SSC has on campus job placement and a very few make it up, mostly the students council members.

Wipro, Trustklub,Indigo,Decathlon,Omnifin. These were the companies in my knowledge who visited. I won't appreciate the placement cell of our college. First of all not everyone who appeared for the placement got a chance to make up for the personal session. When I appeared during my 3rd sem, placement cell didn't even consider our CV. Moreover the entrepreneur cell is not up to the mark.

I take part in most of the extracurricular activities of SSC. The aura is very very very hectic when the D day comes near. Srijan is the fest of our college. It is really huge and once you become a part you will always be pampered.

SSC campus is shared by Shri Shikshayatan School. Basically not the one you will like. Sports facilities are good. We have a Basket Ball Court where you get to practice at 3pm after you enroll your name for that. We have annual sports meet which is very well organised. Wi-Fi is not for the students (maybe). Personally I haven't used ever. Library is well sized and it's pretty good and well maintained.
