What do you think should be the University’s top priority over the next 10 years?
As a principal, my vision for education in the next ten years is one that embraces transformative change and prepares students to thrive in a rapidly evolving world. This can involve initiatives such as increasing financial aid, expanding online learning options, and investing in student support services.
We need to prioritize improving student retention, graduation rates, and post-graduation outcomes by offering more career services, providing academic support programs, and investing in experiential learning opportunities. We must also invest more in state-of-the-art research facilities, attract top faculty and researchers, and foster collaborations with industry and government partners.
What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the university and the students are?
As a principal, my view on the roles and responsibilities towards students and universities is to provide high-quality education to their students, equipping them with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in their chosen fields. I am also responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. My goal is also to provide a platform for students to gain hands-on experience through internships and research opportunities, making them well-rounded individuals ready to take on challenges in the global marketplace. As a support service, my role is to assist students and the university in achieving these goals by providing effective communication and messaging that accurately represents the university's values, programs, and initiatives. This involves crafting compelling and persuasive copy that engages and informs students, faculty, and other stakeholders, as well as ensuring that all communications are clear, accurate, and consistent with the university's brand and messaging guidelines.
