The ranking by QS focuses mainly on 4 areas which are faculty and teaching, class profile, class experience, and employer reputation. It was one of the first universities to be ranked by QS in 2023. IU International University of Applied Sciences has been able to maintain its rank in the top 50 in 2024 also.

IU is the only European university of the Association of African Universities (AAU) which is a network of over 420 universities and research centers from across the African continent.
