REVIEW OF THE CHEMISTRY DEPARTMENT OF ASUTOSH COLLEGE

Likes

The environment is very friendly and enjoyable
All modes of transportation are available just outside the gate of college

Dislikes

the campus size is very small and shabby
the toilets are very dirty and lack of sanitary is observed

The curriculum is pretty much up-to-date. I always wanted to study chemistry in asutosh college as the faculty of chemistry is highly educated and the teachers are very much experienced. The curriculum prepares the students really well for applying the knowledge gained from the college in real world.

Likes

I liked the college campus and the sports which is conduct by the college student council.
I liked the discipline of the college and department of chemistrys Manners.

Dislikes

I dislike the nepotism of the college, and also the ragging.
I dislike the teachers are not cooperative with students

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course mean which I continue now, Bsc honors is very tough course in Calcutta university, But Chemistry hona is a very very good course for science students. If one time Student can cleared the bsc in Calcutta university then Any competitive exam for this student should be easier. And the Future will be more easier after completing the Degrees. After clearing the exam u can also join any asistant Post of any laboratory of any college any under any university. And yon can also join Forensics laboratory for Earning money and jobs. In this course u can also join College asistant. The exam is soooo tough and in a year 2 exam is conducted by the university and one exam is conduct on April and another exam is conduct by university on December. The exam time is 2 hours and the full marks of the exam is 50 . Where the theory question is 50 and the practical exam is 30 marks and 10 mark isinternal

The teaching and non teaching staff. They can help at any field we require.
The librabry is very helpful. They can afford any books what we want.

My Course is all about Chemistry where we research with chemicals and my college help us in every step if it is theory or practical. The teachers are awesome . They help anytime whenever we need. They took many class tests for improvement our skills.

Roller Coaster Ride

Likes

College life was good at asutosh College.
Campus is also good, environment is good.

Placement Experience:

Certain subjects provide placements, but incase of my subject, i.e. chemistry various internships were there. placement cell is not that active as most students prefer an M.sc after a B.sc and higher studies.

Remarks:

Very good college with lots of good teacher, liberty, laboratory and study rooms. The facilities available with the laboratory for chemical experiments were superb and we use to really enjoy those laboratory days.

I can say that my college was very helpfull for my graduation course. i took a great experience from my college. but the students politics can be harmfull sometimes. so i wish that studios environment should me maintained in the college premises.

Remarks:

It's quite a renowned college in Kolkata. It had a prestigious history. It is named after the great Sir Asutosh Mukherjee though the quality of study and the atmosphere degrade over the years, it is still one of the very good colleges in the city.
